In this session, Deldelp will give a quick history lesson on venture capital. It's important to understand why it exists, where it started and where it is today. She will then facilitate an untethering from the typical Silicon Valley mindset around raising money through a talk about lenses and how it affects the way we perceive and seize opportunities.

This session will focus on the basics of business structures (corporations, LLCs), how equity works, the value of intellectual property, and essential elements to have in place as a business owner.

Kevin will guide us through the best practices of researching your leads, managing opportunities, and closing deals. Establishing relationships is key. He'll dig into how you do this and B2B deal structures that will allow you to get money in the door quickly.

Nowadays, you can build almost anything without writing a single line of code. Tara will show us how non-technical entrepreneurs can create their own apps and validate them using simple existing tools. She'll also talk about how to set yourself up for success by choosing the right business model for your concept.
